Government, history, and social studies teachers of Sonoma County high school juniors and seniors are invited to bring members of the local legal community — judges, attorneys, paralegals, and law students — directly into their classrooms during Law Week 2026 (April 27–May 1).
Each year, the Sonoma County Bar Association (SCBA) and the Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE) partner to make these visits possible. Guest presenters help students explore their rights as students and emerging adults, share their own paths into the legal field, and lead interactive activities such as skits, role-plays, or roundtable discussions.
Presenters share:
• Their personal pathways into the legal field
• Realistic scenarios involving student rights
• Conversations about civic participation and decision-making
• Interactive activities such as skits, role-plays, or roundtable discussions
Reasons to Participate:
• Enrich your government, history, or social studies curriculum
• Provide students with real-world context for legal concepts
• Encourage civic literacy and critical thinking
• Offer students direct access to law professionals in our community
