WE HAVE PANELS IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:

Note: If your practice area of law is not shown and you would like to establish a panel for referrals, please contact Susan Demers at the SCBA office.
PANEL FEES:
- $100 annual fees per Panel, up to a maximum of $400 with no limit to the number of panels that can be applied for.
- $100 administration fee is applied for non-SCBA members. Join SCBA to waive this additional fee and pay for your LRS Panel(s) at the same time. Then submit the Application and Agreement to Susan Demers by email with a Note that you paid on the SCBA website. * Beginning January 2027, all panelists will be required to be SCBA members.
THE LRS MEMBERSHIP PACKET FOR 2026 Consists of:
- The Cover Letter - explains the particulars regarding forwarding fees and more. Everyone should read this each year.
- The Application with panels and subpanels supporting form - required to join LRS or add a panel you are not already on.
- The Agreement - required to join and for continuing LRS panelists each year, in January.
- The Local Rules - all panelists should review these annually
- The State Bar Rules - all panelists should review these annually
- The Mentorship Application - Note, if you are admitted for less than 5 years, be aware that some panels require more than 36 months of experience. SCBA prefers you have a mentor (in your office) to oversee / supervise until you have less than 5 years experience. Please request the mentorship application, or re-apply when the minimum experience has been met.

WHAT IS LRS?
The Sonoma County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) refers clients to attorneys who have been assigned to various subject matter panels. Our service is well-established, respected in the Sonoma County legal community, and is certified by the State Bar of California, Certificate 0056. The LRS, for a nominal fee, provides callers with the name of an attorney who will provide a thirty-minute consultation. The consultation is an opportunity for the prospective client to explain the general nature of their legal problem, for the attorney to explain his/her fee structure and to determine if the case is one he/she wishes to pursue.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN?
The LRS receives more than 3,000 calls per year. Our trained staff only refers cases matching your experience and interests. As an LRS Panel member, you receive quality referrals for a small fraction of the cost of advertising in the yellow pages or on the internet. Whether you are hanging a shingle for the first time, or have an established practice, we can help your practice grow.
AM I ELIGIBLE TO JOIN?
You are eligible to join the Lawyer Referral Service if you:
- Maintain an office in Sonoma County - ask about our virtual office rates.
- Carry malpractice insurance
- Provide proof of experience for required panels - minimum of 3 years experience preferred.
Dues for memberships in the LRS for SCBA members are as low as $100 per panel. The administration fee ($100.00) is waived for SCBA Members. You may join as many panels as you like, with the panel fees capping at $400.
