Summary

This program will provide an overview of the taxation of retirement benefits (primarily
IRAs and 401(k) plans) following the adoption of the SECURE Act and the issuance of
the Proposed Treasury Regulations. The speakers will focus on the minimum
distribution rules after death, the consequences of leaving the benefits in trust, and
will discuss solutions to common problems that arise following death where the
benefits were inadvertently left to an estate or for which proper pre death planning
was not made.
