Summary

Many lawyers will face the prospect of closing a law practice due to retirement or disability. A lawyer or staff may be called upon to close a practice where there was no preparation for closing. At this workshop we will discuss the rules and regulations for closing a practice. We will discuss best practices and pitfalls to avoid. This workshop is a must for lawyers but also for support staff who may be tasked with the administrative duties to close down a legal office.
Robin Estes has practiced law in Sonoma County for 27 years and is currently working with Jennifer McMillen (Ron’s daughter and paralegal) to close the law practice of Ron Cassells who passed in 2020.
