Lifelines for Small Businesses

Learn about existing and new tools available for small businesses though Chapter 7, Chapter 13 and Chapter 11 including the new Subchapter V for small business.

This presentation will provide practical information to assist attorneys in shepherding their clients through these challenging financial times with a special focus on Subchapter V for businesses with less than $7.5m in debt.

Mr. Barboza currently practices bankruptcy law as a solo practitioner in Santa Rosa. He Previously worked with the Sonoma County Probation Department as a Probation Officer while attending Empire Law School and Sonoma State University; he graduated and began practicing in 2008. Mr. Barboza currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Sonoma County Bar Association as well as serving as the Chair of SCBA’s Bankruptcy Section.

Ms. Klump has practiced family and bankruptcy law in Sonoma County and the Northern District of California for the past 11 years, representing small businesses and individuals. Gina is a former member of the Northern District of California Bankruptcy Court Bench Bar Liaison Committee. She has been certified as a specialist in Bankruptcy Law by the State Bar of California. Ms. Klump was recently appointed by the US Trustee as a subchapter V panel trustee for the Northern District of California.

Mr. Provencher’s background includes representing individuals and businesses in contract disputes, insolvency cases, professional liability lawsuits, real estate matters and more. He has tried numerous jury and court cases in both state and federal courts with an excellent record of beneficial results. The California State Bar certifies Mr. Provencher as a specialist in Bankruptcy Law. He conducts regular bankruptcy workshops for low-income residents in Marin, Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino Counties as part of the California Rural Legal Assistance office.
