Joe Rogoway
Rogoway Law Group

As Founder & Principal of Rogoway Law Group, Mr. Rogoway maintains a diverse cannabis law practice. Widely recognized as a thought-leader in the cannabis industry, Mr. Rogoway has dedicated his academic and professional career to cannabis law reform and regulation. In 2001, as a legal study major at UC Santa Cruz, he attended the School of Law at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands in order to study the world’s closest example (at the time) of cannabis regulation and legitimized commerce. Three years later, as a law student at the University of San Francisco, Mr. Rogoway clerked at Americans for Safe Access. While at ASA, he was tasked with assisting patients and caregivers navigate the implementation of SB 420 and the associated collective model. This clerkship took place at a time before there was a cannabis industry. In his continued pursuit of cannabis law reform, Mr. Rogoway found himself on the front lines of prohibition as a trial attorney at the Mendocino and Sonoma County Public Defender’s offices. His work in Northern California gave Mr. Rogoway invaluable insight into the world of cannabis production and its impact on communities north of the Golden Gate Bridge. This led him to work on multiple California state ballot initiatives, beginning in 2010, to legalize the adult use of cannabis. His work in the trenches of law and policy fortified Mr. Rogoway’s expertise in cannabis law and allowed him to carve out a practice area in this field. In 2011, Mr. Rogoway formed Rogoway Law Group as a firm dedicated to serving the cannabis industry. Over the last 5 years, Rogoway Law Group has grown to become an institution in the cannabis industry. Its internationally renowned team of legal experts are known for their advocacy work and unsurpassed understanding of cannabis law and policy.
