Legal Issues Related to Stimulus Funding

On March 27, 2020, President Trump signed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security which created the Payroll Protection Program. Since its tumultuous start, the PPP has funded almost 5 million loans for over $520 billion dollars to US businesses. Interim rules and guidance has been issued to clarify eligibility for funds and for forgiveness, yet certain areas remain rife with ambiguity. Criminal charges have been filed against applicants. Civil litigation has been commenced on certain issues and is expected on others. This program will examine the litigation as well as the rules surround PPP forgiveness.
