Fighting Cyber & Click Fraud

Cyber Fraud cost businesses between $6 billion and $30 billion in 2019. This MCLE presentation focuses on the California Consumer Privacy Act and Click Fraud cyber-attacks on law firm Google Ad budgets. Both issues facing lawyers and law firms in 2020 can be extremely costly if not addressed properly. This presentation provides tips and strategies to help firms stay in compliance, save money, and avoid costly state and civil monetary penalties

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Strategies for the Legal Industry: The CCPA is the nation’s most stringent data privacy law. Enacted January 1, 2020 the CCPA’s purpose is to protect California consumers’ rights over their personal identifiable information (PII) aka personal information. Are you using protective measures to shield your client’s PII? If you aren’t, what is your law firm planning to do to protect your client’s personal identifiable information (PII)? We will outline tips to protect PII and how to prepare for compliance with the CCPA.

Click Fraud: An ongoing threat to law firms and lawyers who utilize Google Ads as a tool to market their services. Click fraud is the intentional stealing of ad budget monies by click farms, bots, and human hackers. On average 20% – 30% of advertisers’ budgets are stolen each month through illegal clicks made by perpetrators that have no intention of purchasing services. We outline who is attacking your ads, why they are under attack, and how you can protect your budget with a few simple and affordable steps.
