Deeds and the Recording Process–Get It Right The First Time

This workshop will include an overview of deed types, Recorder functions and basics, fees, forms including preliminary change of ownership, searching records, online purchase of documents, e-recording, best practice and common errors.

Anne Dennis

Anne N. Dennis has been a resident of Sonoma County since 1977. She is a graduate of Sonoma State University and Empire College School of Law, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was class valedictorian. Ms. Dennis has been a practicing attorney for 25 years and a licensed real estate broker for 18 years. Prior to commencing the practice of law, Ms. Dennis worked as a corporate controller for a local commercial general contractor.

Ms. Dennis received her trial and research experience with the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office and the Madera County District Attorney’s Office. She has been in private practice in Sonoma County since 2000, specializing in trust and estate matters, including litigation and conservatorships.

Areas of expertise include real property title, trust drafting, probate and trust administration, probate and trust litigation, conservatorships, and elder financial abuse.

Ms. King has served as the Sonoma County Chief Deputy Clerk-Recorder since December 2018. Her public service career began in 2006 in the Clerk-Recorder’s Office for the County of San Luis Obispo working primarily as the lead document recorder and poll worker trainer for Elections. Today, she and her staff work to fulfill the vision of the Clerk-Recorder-Assessor to provide everyone access to public records, continuity of services, and preservation of history.
