Special Issues in Custody Matters and Representing Minors

Day One of this program covers all 8 hours of training required by California Rules of Court, Rule 5.242 for continuing minors’ counsel. Add on Day Two for the required 12 hours of training for new minors’ counsel!

~ Authority for Appointment, Duties, Rights and Qualifications of Counsel, Compensation of Counsel, Qualifications of Counsel, and Child’s Participation in Proceedings
~ Communicating With & Interviewing Children at Different Stages of Development
~ Preparing Children for Family Court Services or Judicial Interview Consideration of Children’s Wishes
~ Custody and Visitation Issues; CPS Reports, Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, Substance Abuse, Dependency

~ Adverse Childhood Experiences and Child Trauma: Tools for Interacting with Clients Who Have Experienced Trauma; Advocating for Your Client within the Court System
