Digital technology has now all but permeated modern society. As lawyers, whether we like it or not, we need to come to grips with the fact that truth-seeking in today’s world requires a basic understanding of how proof can be located, collected, searched and analyzed in a forensically sound manner. This presentation is intended to provide a basic overview for lawyers (even those without any technical knowledge) of best practices in the fields of digital forensics and e-discovery. We will address new technologies that can help lawyers get their hands around the ever-increasing amounts of electronically-stored information, and also how knowing where to look for data can help you be a better advocate for your clients. Questions are welcome throughout the presentation.
